This magazine advert once again does not give a lot of information about the album, but the information it does give is very important such as the title of the band and the album. They both stand out very well and are easy to see being at the header and footer of the image. Below the album name it says “The new album includes Sex on Fire, Crawl, and Use Somebody.” This is important to have on the advert as it grabs the reader’s attention and persuades them to by the album by showing what well known songs are in there.
The colours used on this advert are mainly shades of grey, they have used this because it links in with the genre of the band and also it links in with the colour scheme of the album cover making it all link together. This also relates back to Negus Theory.
I feel the main conventions of this advert are the title of the band and the main image stand out from the advert. The image is the main cover for the front of the album and using this gets the image in reader mind and when the reader sees the image again, the first thing that will pop in their head is the release date and artist.
